In practice Dr. Robinson offers a multitude of different treatment techniques including some diversified manual adjustments, instrument assisted adjustments, Arthrostim adjustments, Impulse Adjustments, kinesiotaping, Graston technique, mobilizations, cupping tissue decompression therapy & fascia release, percussion therapy and various physical therapy modalities.

A patient centred approach to health care is at the core of my practice philosophy.  Through a detailed history, physical examination and patient feedback, I tailor your treatment plan to fit your unique goals.

Over the last decade I have studied and certified in a variety of different treatment methods, which allows me to uniquely build a treatment plan that works for you.  Not every patient gets adjusted, and not every patient receives muscle release therapy.  It is all unique to what your needs, preferences and situation warrants, and I believe in including you in making these decisions as a health care partner

My Treatment methods:

Manual Diversified Adjustments

Diversified Chiropractic Technique (DCT) is the most commonly used adjustment technique by chiropractors.  DCT is characterized by a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust.  This is what many would call traditional manual adjustments.

Impulse Adjustments (Instrument)

IMPULSE: This patented and Health Canada registered device was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities to relieve pain and restore function. ‑The Impulse Adjusting Instrument® is controlled by micro-computer circuitry housed within the device that produces a controlled force that chiropractors can use to treat different areas of the body.  This technique does not produce the 'popping' or 'cracking' sound as heard/felt with traditional adjustments.

Arthrostim Adjustments (Instrument) & Neuromuscular Release Therapy

ArthroStim works the same way as any other manual chiropractic adjustment, but without the manual pressure. It delivers 12-14 incremental thrusts per second to the affected area of the body. These “thrusts” are rapid successive inputs; therefore, the pressure is only mildly felt by the patient. In fact, many patients report the sensation as being quite comfortable.

Due to the repetitiveness of this instrument, the neurologic feedback of receptors is constant and ongoing throughout the treatment, allowing for an effective result of pain relief and healing.

An important feature of ArthroStim is its ability for pressure adjustment. Your chiropractor will be able to manage the amount of force that the thrusts provide, based on the nature of your condition and the amount of pressure that is needed. This allows ArthroStim to effectively treat a wide range of different conditions.

Percussion Therapy / Muscle Recovery

State-of-the-art Percussion Massage

  1. Helps relieve muscle soreness and stiffness

  2. Improves range of motion

  3. Promotes circulation

  4. Accelerates warmup and recovery

Muscle Release Therapy

A hands on muscle technique that aims to identify, isolate and target affected muscle to break up adhesions and increase tissue mobility utilizing manual pin & stretch.

Graston (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy)

Soft tissue injuries can be debilitating and frustrating. Graston Technique®(GT) therapy is successful in effectively treating all soft tissue conditions, whether they are chronic, acute or post- surgical. GT therapy can help you enjoy life again.

This unique technique and instruments enable the treatment of scar tissue and fascial restrictions during rehabilitation that allows for faster rehabilitation and with greater success when the goal is restoring range of motion, eliminating pain, and restoring normal function.

Kinesiotaping

KT and  the kinesiotaping method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions.

Kinesio taping has a few important aspects. Firstly, it helps reset the circuitry in the affected part of your body by correcting any faulty interactions between the skin and the tendons, muscles, and joints underneath. By doing this, you are able to improve your muscle strength and activity.

Secondly, Kinesio taping also blocks the pain receptors that are being sent to your brain. When your brain doesn’t receive those messages telling you that you’re in pain, the muscles in the affected area will loosen up and the risk of muscle spasms will decrease. Pain constricts an affected area, but if the pain is taken away, there suddenly becomes more freedom for blood flow and movement.

Cupping

Benefits of cupping

  • Remove facial restrictions

  • Increase range of motion

  • Reduced adhesion from scar tissue

  • Reduces increased tone in muscles

  • Revascularization of the area

Neutraceuticals/Vitamins

Although I believe it's always best to obtain your nutritional needs from foods in your diet, the reality is that often we either need a boost, or supplementation in an area that our diet may lack within.

For this reason neutraceuticals can often play a vital role in your health care journey.

I do not carry any vitamins/supplements, but will provide you with a prescription based on your individual case on what supplements may be beneficial.

You then can either utilize my suggested online dispensary that only carries medical grade supplements or you can choose your own retailer.  With supplements however, just bear in mind that quality is far more important than quantity.

Types of care available:

Pain Relief

Many people first walk in to the chiropractor's office due to pain.  It could be a newly sprained ankle, ongoing aches and pains related to life (such as sitting at a computer all day), or chronic pain due to a condition such as arthritis or fibromyalgia.  Although spinal health is a crucial part of a healthy body, in my practice I also deal with a multitude of muscle, joint and tissue related pain presentations.  I employe a variety of different muscle/soft tissue treatment techniques to help ease your pain, reduce inflammation and reduce or eliminate tension.  Check out my 'treatment methods' section on the website for further info.

Stress Relief

When someone is under chronic stress, muscles tense and contract.  Treatments such as adjusting the spine & muscle therapy can release the tension held in muscles, which relaxes the body and increases circulation of the blood. This action can help soothe the flight or fight response of the body, resulting in a more relaxed state of being.

Many of my patients lead a busy and often stressful life and seek chiropractic care with me to ease the physical symptoms of stress they experience.  These visits are tailored to your lifestyle and preference.  Some patients always include manual or instrument adjustments during these visits and others may just receive muscle work and/or other techniques such as cupping therapy.  The choice is entirely yours.

Lifestyle Care

No matter what your current lifestyle,  chiropractic can help ease your aches & pains, help restore your ranges of motion, and keep your spine and body moving at its best.

Many of my patients describe themselves as keyboard warriors and weekend athletes, which often can lead to new injuries.  In these instances regular chiropractic care can often negate the effects of sporadic activity coupled with chronic sedentary work and keep you moving & doing what you love most.

Wellness Care

Chiropractic Wellness Care focuses on keeping your body functioning & moving properly.  Many patients pick a wellness treatment schedule that suits them to periodically check in and ensure that their spine is properly aligned, muscles are free of tension and ranges of motion are optimal.  You can start wellness care at any point in life, but it always starts with an assessment to ensure we assess every possible problem area within your body.  Some patients come in weekly while some may come in monthly.  As each individual and their needs are unique, so is their wellness care treatment schedule.

Post-Partum Care

This is an an area of care I have a very special interest in.  As a mom, I know too well what changes your body goes through after you've experienced pregnancy.

I have completed advanced training in prenatal and post partum care, and I love making new moms feel their best.  Too often life gets very busy after having a baby, and I can't tell you what a difference a little bit of self-care can do for you.

Usually women with POST PARTUM SYNDROME present with some or all of the following:

  • Pain and tension across the shoulders, near the bra-line or between the shoulder blades

  • Neck stiffness, jaw pain, and/or headaches

  • Tingling, tightness, pain in the arms or hands and wrist pain

  • Low back pain and hip pain

  • Weakening (and possibly separation) of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles

So if you've had a baby recently, or even a few years ago, come see me and let's see what we can do to make you feel, move and live better.

Posture Rehab

Your posture is the position of your body while standing, sitting or lying down. Optimal or ideal posture is the state of muscular and skeletal balance that positions the joints correctly to provide minimum stress on the body. Optimal posture protects your body against injury or progressive deformity.

Chiropractic Care can help improve postural imbalances by introducing proper joint motion in restricted areas, reducing muscular imbalances with soft tissue work, re-teaching proper posture with help of kinesiotape, and teaching you about proper ergonomics to avoid recurrence due to lifestyle factors.

It is never too late to start working on your posture, so if you want help in this area to book assessment.
